Annoyed with baseball pools that drag on all season or don't offer you a chance to make money from your fantasy expertise? We are too, so we did something about it.

We call it the Pro Baseball PowerStat Challenge, a game where you truly need to know your stuff if you hope to succeed; a game that can be played in a league or tournament format or head-to-head against your friend; a game that runs its course over a few days and rewards the winner immediately instead of picking a team in late March and celebrating in early October.

Just do your fantasy research to determine the best strategy for maximizing your points on each game and make your picks. But here's the kicker and the reason why real fantasy baseball contenders will excel while fantasy baseball pretenders will be exposed.

You can't pick players from the same team for all five categories.

For example: perhaps you think the New York Yankees will defeat their arch rivals from Boston in a weekend series. Now how does that translate to winning the PowerStat Challenge where you are picking based on stolen bases, hits, home runs and pitcher earned runs and strikeouts?
